Further Snippets from the diary of Kliren Darume (Deceased) -Now by Jimmy.

James’ Journey I guess.
I’ve inherited this Journal from Kliren Darume. He made the mistake of leading his group by example, rather than tasking them with the tricky jobs. Unfortunately an animated sarcophagus, with the help of some arcane lightning, brought him closer to Pharasma. They’re now on first name terms whilst he serves her in the afterlife.
So I’m given the job of keeping accurate records of the adventures of ‘The Good, the Bad, and the Tiny.’ Only they’re short one of the tiny’s now.
* * *
So my first outing with this group is back to the place of Kliren’s death. no foreboding there what-so-ever eh? Fortunately the intrument of my previous bosses death lay in splinters everywhere. Seems there are some secret doors off this chamber. I’m going to stand well back to stay clear of any danger.
* * *
Just writing a journal entry so I don’t have to be the one to open the door. Its always the person who opens the door that dies.
* * *
Turns out that this tomb is almost entirely inhabited by swarms of biting venomous bugs. Luckily they stayed far enough away from me while feasting on the party members.
* * *
Finally found the true Sarcophagus. Beautifully inlaid with gold. Loot abounded in the room. Beautiful armour, gems, a chest of gold. Guarded unfortunately, by a large metal snake. Rufus was immediately grabbed by the beast, and started to go a strange shade of purple. I’ve never seen an Orc go that colour before. I stupidly made the mistake of rushing to help him. I’m quite lucky to still be alive. I’m not sure I’ll do that again.
* * *
Getting the loot back was a challenge, but I’ve never seen someones eyes light up like that priest when I presented Klirens notes (and the large metal books) I almost felt bad taking his gold. Almost.

Right, lets make sure I get this down correctly.
We’re off to the house of a nobleman. During the plague he bolted from the city leaving his family behind. The house should have been locked down, so hopefully there’ll be lots there for us to recover.
* * *
Front door was crowbar’d open. Balls. Not as contained as we hoped.
* * *
On entering the property, Ghostly screams and the sound of attackers at the gate. Not really what you want when entering a deserted place!
* * *
Dogs. Huge, massive, pointy teethed, worm infested Dogs. Affectionately known (I believe) as Death Dogs. Possibly because they’re so fluffy and friendly? These ones tried to eat Rufus.
Fortunately we prevailed though, and now they’re dead death dogs…
* * *
Strange yipping sound coming from the shed next to the dead dogs. Going to send Rufus to investigate.
* * *
Death Puppies. Apparently its wrong of me to suggest ending them. Cassius is with me on this, but the rest of them seem to have gone a little mad. Perhaps the parasitic worms that infest these creatures are eating their brains? Rufus, Corvil, Gallyn and Kryl have fashioned collars and leads. Rufus is making squealy sounds I’ve never heard come from an orc before.

So we took a rest, while they found bits of food to feed these monsters. This really is a bad idea.
* * *
Entered the main building. Something triggered. A ghostly apparition slid towards us, turning into a sand beast at the last moment. I hate sand. took some doing, but we managed to drop it. Not even any decent loot. Just sand.
* * *
Took another rest. Then headed out to investigate the pantry. Not that there’s likely to be food here, but…
* * *
More Ghosts, only these ones seem to have lost something. One of the others mentioned hearing them talking about a lost ring. Bit of a search and we found it, together with some other bits and bobs.
* * *
Investiaged the other side of the garden. Someone suggested we make sure its clear in case we have to run later.
* * *
It wasn’t clear. One giant centipede, and six floating skulls. Not exactly what I’d consider a happy dance. By the time we finished them off, I think everyone was at deaths door.
* * *
Decided to head home. We need rest.
* * *
Guards stopped us at the exit to say we couldn’t leave with the death puppies, despite a good story from the Bard. They’ve taken the puppies back into the Necropolis. I believe to try hiding them and smuggling them back out. I didn’t have the time for this though, Cassius and I carried Corvil back to the shop. Really need some sleep, and to go buy some more potions. feeling rather under the weather right now.
